Alexandra Horwood
Director, Wealth Management, Portfolio Manager 

Alexandra was ranked the top female investment advisor in Canada on the Top 50 Advisors list by Wealth Professional, 2017. Alexandra has also been highlighed as a Young Gun (Top 40 under 40 Investment Advisors in Canada) by Wealth Professional for two years running. Alexandra actively manages the personal financial affairs for many successful mining executives, business owners, inheritors and executives. Her integrated family office service model adds value by liaising with all your advisors in the role of your personal CFO. Alexandra is a multi-award-winning, goal-oriented wealth professional with an unsurpassed work ethic. She focuses on maximizing returns through long-term investing while protecting your assets from market risk. Alexandra’s intellectual vigor drives her to research and challenge the underlying facts behind every investment decision. Alexandra is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and a Life Insurance Agent.  

A gifted student, Alexandra graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts &  Business, Major in Legal Studies from the University of Waterloo and also studied abroad at Australia’s Macquarie University. After distinguishing herself during co-op placements at Franklin Templeton Investments, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Research in Motion (now Blackberry), and Microsoft, Alexandra joined The Horwood Team at Richardson GMP in 2010 and quickly rose to become the youngest Director, Wealth Management, Portfolio Manager at Richardson GMP. Her growing team is solidified with the formation of Alexandra Horwood & Partners in 2015.

Alexandra is married to Andrew, Institutional Sales at TD Securities, and they have one son, Mason. In her spare time Alexandra loves to cook, exercise and read.

Ghinel Bozek
Associate Investment Advisor

Ghinel was highlighted as a Young Gun (Top 40 under 40 Investment Advisors in Canada) by Wealth Professional, 2016. Ghinel manages the personal financial affairs for many successful agricultural families, business owners, mining executives and entertainment professionals and provides the highest level of service to our valued clients at Alexandra Horwood & Partners and Richardson GMP Ltd. With over four years’ experience in the wealth management business, Ghinel, a journalist turned wealth professional, has excelled in supporting the needs of her clients. Ghinel is highly motivated and experienced in trading, operations and implementing personalized strategies to enhance your wealth. Ghinel is dedicated to delivering an integrated holistic wealth management experience that incorporates all aspects of your financial well-being with a strong emphasis on tax savings.

Ghinel’s drive and passion for the business comes from her love of being an entrepreneur and understanding the hurdles and challenges that come with managing your wealth and personal financial needs at the same time. Boasting wisdom beyond her years, Ghinel was highlighted as a 2016 Young Gun by Wealth Professional and recognized as one of Canada’s best and brightest millennials in the business. Ghinel is constantly building her expertise and currently working towards her Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) Portfolio Management designation.

Ghinel’s family is from Saskatchewan and she is married to Cameron, a successful film and television producer. In her spare time, Ghinel loves to cook, read, travel and dance.

Kyle Johnson
Associate Investment Advisor, CIM

Kyle joined The Horwood Team in September 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from York University. Kyle gained valuable experience working with a Canadian chartered bank since 2008 through day-to-day account management and investing. Kyle is a valuable member of Alexandra Horwood & Partners and delivers excellent client service by implementing tax-efficient strategies in portfolios, trading, wire transfers, building and monitoring model portfolios, wealth plans, retirement projections and detailed investment analysis. Kyle is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and is pursuing his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.

In his spare time, Kyle enjoys playing golf, travel and camping.

 


 
 

Sharbari Chakraborty
Assistant

Sharbari joined Richardson GMP & Richardson Partners Financial in 2008 working in the back office Securities Department of  Operations. The Horwood Team immediately recognized her value and administrative expertise and asked her to join The Horwood Team in 2012. Sharbari provides administrative support behind the scenes to Alexandra Horwood & Partners ensuring clients’ and advisors needs are met in the most timely manner.

Sharbari is married to Manoj and together they have a daughter, Deshna, who is the light of their life. Sharbari enjoys cooking, travelling, music and reading. 

 


 
 

Jason Middleton, BBA, CFP
Individual Insurance Consultant

Jason’s financial and accounting backgrounds allow him to take a comprehensive approach to advanced Estate and Insurance planning for clients. His ‘educate first’ approach resonates well with clients, who feel that his solution-based recommendations are tailored to their individual needs.

Jason earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honors in Accounting and Corporate Finance in 1999 from the University of New Brunswick. He began working on his CA with Deloitte and Touche in 2001 after taking a sabbatical to train and try out for the Canadian Olympic Swim Team. Upon returning to the work force Jason completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 2003.

 


 
 

Mike George, B. Comm (Hons), M.Acc, CA, CFP
Director, Wealth Services

Mike is responsible for the effective delivery of the wide range of wealth planning services at Richardson GMP. He has extensive experience in the tax field and helps identify strategies to reduce taxes, enhance and preserve wealth, and transfer assets tax-efficiently to the next generation. Mike has played an instrumental role in delivering client-centered strategies including the successful transition of family businesses, the development of long-term employee compensation programs (including stock option and employee pension plans) and the reduction of tax on the sale of businesses by utilizing trusts to multiply the enhanced capital gains exemption among family members.
