James Meltzer, B.Comm.
Senior Vice President & Investment Advisor
James Meltzer has built a dedicated client base throughout his 25-year career in the Investment Industry. Currently he is a Senior Vice President in the Montreal office of Richardson GMP Limited. His clients include a wide array of individual households and a few small institutional investors with financial requirements ranging from mostly conservative fixed income high quality equity portfolios to some early stage equity investments.
James obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in 1990. Shortly after began his career at Bock & Bock Inc. as Client Service Manager responsible for the national marketing of mutual funds. Looking for a greater challenge, he joined Marleau, Lemire Securities Inc. in July 1992 with the mandate to service a high net worth individual clientele. A series of progressive promotions recognized him for ranking consistently as one of the top Investment Advisors in production and client satisfaction. In January 1998, James joined a predecessor firm in the company’s new Montreal office and in 1999 he was appointed Senior Vice President. While this firm passed through several ownerships James has continued to provide his clients with the highest level of boutique institutional style investment solutions.
James continues to improve his knowledge by completing industry courses on a regular basis. He is a member of the IIROC Quebec Council for the better part of a decade.
James is an avid golfer who also enjoys training at the Montreal Amateur Athletic Club. His community involvement includes support of the Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer (HBOC) Foundation and the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Diane started in the industry in 1995 at TD Waterhouse. She worked there for eight years and then joined ScotiaMcLeod as Assistant to the Branch Manager and Branch Administrator. During her four years at ScotiaMcLeod, Diane was promoted to Assistant Branch Administrator and worked for three Investment Advisors. Diane has completed the Canadian Securities and Conduct and Practices Handbook courses. In September 2007 Diane joined a predecessor firm. As Branch Administrator and my Investment Services Assistant she manages our administrative hub, processing trades and handling the day to day operations of the branch, planning any branch related events while continuing to ensure a high degree of client service.
