Jamie brings over 40 years of experience in the investment banking and oil and gas industries, and offers our clients unparalleled levels of transparency, trust and peace of mind. Despite his unassuming presence, he is a fierce competitor and high achiever in the capital markets arena.

Jamie was founding Partner and Managing Director of Finance of FirstEnergy Capital Corp. and co-founder of Wilson Mackie and Company Inc. Prior to forming J.F. Mackie, which evolved into Mackie Research Capital Corp., Jamie was an Investment Advisor with National Bank Financial Corp. He gathered significant oil and gas expertise with roles at Suncor, Hudson Bay Oil and Gas/Dome Petroleum, and Canadian Hunter on both the commercial and technical sides. Jamie formed The Mackie Wealth Group as the team joined Macquarie Private Wealth in 2011, and that firm was acquired by Richardson GMP in 2013.

He has degrees from the University of Calgary and a Master of Science in Resource Management from Yale University and is a Portfolio Manager. He has a solid reputation for transparency in the Canadian investment community. Jamie’s connection with clients and community coupled with his dedication to ethical behaviour has created a sense of success and peace of mind that radiates throughout his team.

Tricia is an Investment Advisor and Portfolio Manager who has worked with Jamie Mackie and the Mackie Wealth Group for over 17 years. Her varied and comprehensive education brings a unique and valuable perspective to our team.

Tricia holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA ) designation, an MA in philosophy from Dalhousie University and undergraduate degrees with distinction in English and Philosophy from the University of Calgary. In 2014, she completed the Institute for Corporate Directors Not For Profit certificate. Tricia has volunteered with several not for profit organizations during her professional career. She has served on boards in the financial and not-for-profit sectors. Tricia serves as a director on the boards of Theatre Calgary and the Theatre Calgary Endowment. Tricia is also President of the Calgary Allied Arts Foundation; a past board member of the Calgary CFA Society and current committee member for the Calgary CFA Women in Investment Management conference. She also served as a founding member and past Treasurer of Calgary Cinematheque. Prior to joining the financial services industry, Tricia worked in research and teaching positions in philosophy at Dalhousie and the University of Calgary. When not attending art and film events in the city, Trish is usually in the mountains cross country skiing, hiking, or travelling.

Rahim Chatur brings over 13 years of experience to the Mackie Wealth Group's private clients by providing customized portfolio and advisory services. As a Portfolio Manager, Rahim embodies a comprehensive analytical ability to look beyond the numbers, providing tailored solutions that strive to achieve client objectives. He values strong relationships and has a track record of recognizing favorable investments when interpreting research and financials. Rahim delivers a holistic client-focused approach to managing the wealth of his clients while providing solutions on how to successfully execute them to help clients achieve their current and long-term goals.

Previously Rahim headed up one of Canada’s premier private equity trading desks. Our global client base see substantial value added to their private equity holdings through his specialized coverage which offers added insight, enhanced liquidity and deal flow.

After earning his Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree in Finance from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, Rahim worked with TD as a New Issue Specialist and GE Capital as a Commercial Finance Associate. He then joined J.F. Mackie & Company in 2004, which later evolved into Mackie Research Capital. The Mackie Wealth Group moved to Macquarie Private Wealth in 2011 which was subsequently acquired by Richardson GMP in 2013. Rahim holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Derivatives Markets Specialist (DMS) designations, is options and U.S. licensed. Rahim served on the Macquarie Advisory Circle committee and is a supporter of local charities.

 

Jeffrey Mackie

Jeffrey has worked with the members of the Mackie Wealth Group since 2007 and is currently in the role of Director and Portfolio Manager.  Jeffrey strives to gain a thorough understanding of his client’s aspirations and enjoys helping them develop comprehensive and innovative solutions that allow them to feel confident and inspired about their financial future.  Jeffrey recently wrote a book titled ‘Guidebook to Setting up a Family Trust’ to help others understand how a setting up a family trust could help them secure their legacy for their beneficiaries.

Jeffrey was born and raised in Calgary Alberta.  After graduating with honours in mechanical engineering at Queen’s University, Jeffrey completed a master’s degree in engineering at the University of Toronto, specializing in Integrated Manufacturing.  Jeffrey worked at Suncor as an engineer and project manager before shifting his career to wealth management.

Bruce Kennedy

Bruce Kennedy is a leader of the Canadian investment industry with more than 55 years of experience and a reputation for exceptional service, honesty, global perspective, and an impressive track record. At the Mackie Wealth Group, he advises a very loyal and long-standing clientele of mature, high net worth investors with a focus on preserving wealth, building portfolios that generate reliable income streams for retirement, and helping to plan meaningful legacies.

Bruce’s distinguished career began at the Toronto Stock Exchange in 1956. He joined Gairdner and Company in 1957 and worked as Branch Manager in Ottawa and St. Catharines, transferred to their Calgary and Vancouver offices, and was National Sales Manager until 1973 when the firm merged with Walwyn Stodgell Cochran Murray Ltd. Bruce then moved to Calgary to open the global brokerage boutique Moss Lawson and Company Ltd., where he served as Executive VP and Director, responsible for Western Canada and the Pacific Rim. After 17 years, Bruce joined First Marathon Securities in 1989 as an Investment Advisor and then joined National Bank briefly before teaming up with Jamie Mackie to form J.F. Mackie & Company, where he was a Partner for a decade. Bruce left to join Macquarie Private Wealth in 2011, which was acquired by Richardson GMP in 2013.

Through his esteemed career, Bruce has served as Chairman of the Board of the Alberta Stock Exchange, Chairman of the Financial Liaison Committee of the Independent Petroleum Association of Canada, Director of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada, and Governor of the Canadian Securities Institute.

 

Clement Kam

Clement joined our Group in October 2011 as an Associate. Prior to this, he received his BA in Economics from the University of Calgary, and then worked for three years as an Account Manager with the Bank of Nova Scotia.

Clement is an active trader for the team, in both equities and options markets. He also oversees financings and placements for the team.

He has recently completed the Investment Management Techniques training, and is now working to obtain the Certified Investment Manager designation.

In his spare time, Clement volunteers at the local Drop-In Centre, competes in dragonboat races during the summers, and is an avid soccer player year round.

Cindy Parmelee started in the investment industry as a receptionist at Odlum Brown in Kelowna in 1983. In 1987 she moved to Calgary, and since then she has worked primarily in the securities departments of First Marathon Securities Ltd., National Bank Financial, J.F. Mackie & Company, Mackie Research Capital Corp. until joining Macquarie Private Wealth in July 2011 where she worked in the syndication department. on brokered private placements and grey market issues. She joined the Mackie Wealth Group in March 2014.
