David Friesen, CIM®, AIFP™
Director, Wealth Management, Portfolio Manager
David is the founder and leader of Friesen Capital Management. Over his nearly 17 year career in managing wealth, he has been committed to assisting high net worth individuals, trusts, estates, and businesses in the planning and management of their affairs. Prior to becoming a Director, Wealth Management at Richardson GMP, he was a Vice President and Investment Advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy for 11 years. David began his career as a financial consultant with Richardson Greenshields Ltd.
Based upon Friesen Capital Management's unique "Family CFO" role the team plays with their clients, in simplifying the complexities of overall wealth management, David has made presentations at national conferences to his industry peers throughout Canada. David also co-founded and led the Leadership Forum in Calgary.
David is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Professional™ (or AIFP™) which is a professional designation awarded by the Center of Fiduciary Studies.
Shelby Glenn, B.Sc., FMA
Associate Investment Advisor
Shelby is a graduate of the University of Calgary, earning an Honours Bachelors of Science Degree. She joined Friesen Capital Management in 2004 and has over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Friesen Capital Management, Shelby held positions at CIBC Wood Gundy, including as an Associate Investment Advisor and in a managerial role as Senior Branch Administrator. She has obtained her Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designation and is currently working towards her Insurance License. With her many years of experience, Shelby is able to assist our client families with a large number of complex wealth planning initiatives and is committed to providing excellence in client service.

Martin Danielak, CFA
Martin joined Friesen Capital Management in May of 2012. Prior to joining Friesen Capital Management, Martin worked as an Analyst in both Insurance and Finance for 2 years as he shifted careers out of University to pursue his passion in Finance and working directly with clients. In his last role, he worked as a Market Risk Analyst at Canaccord Genuity Corp. in Toronto where he gained valuable investment experience as he oversaw all of the investments across the firm. He graduated from The Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, earning an Honours in Business Administration degree. Martin also has completed 2 years of a Bachelor of Science degree with an Honours Specialization in Actuarial Science prior to accepting admission into the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Martin recently received the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation in June of 2014 and is currently working towards becoming a Portfolio Manager. Martin's strong analytical skill sets will be a significant contribution for analyzing new investment opportunities and monitoring current investments on behalf of our clients.

Associate Investment Advisor
With more than 25 years of professional management and leadership experience, Carl joined Richardson GMP Limited in 2011, and has been working with Friesen Capital Management (FCM) since 2013. In addition to his broad financial services experience, his business background includes managing and leading teams, projects, and program portfolios for a wide range of business technology clients, with a major focus on people, technology, and financial management.
As a dedicated, results-driven relationship manager, he provides high-net-worth clients with proactive, professional advice and education in collaboration with Richardson GMP’s partners, including their Chief Investment Officer (CIO), the firm’s asset management team, and other market-leading and financial planning professionals. Known for creating and delivering sound, goals-based, investment solutions to his clients, they are grounded in sensible strategies and based on a comprehensive, client-centric, needs-and-wants analysis. A well-organized, proven communicator, Carl effectively handles multiple high-net-worth relations, including investment management responsibility, to help clients with their financial goals, master key life events, and contributes to creating a meaningful and memorable client experience.
Carl holds a BA in economics as well as certificates in management development and information technology management from the University of Calgary and a master’s certificate in project management from York University’s Schulich School of Business.

Haleigh Petersen, B.Sc. International Business
Haleigh has been with Richardson GMP since February 2013 and just recently joined Friesen Capital Management. As an International Business graduate and having completed her Canadian Securities Course, Haleigh has a good understanding of the wealth management industry and the Richardson GMP policies and procedures. She brings a new perspective, a competitive edge and positive attitude.
Haleigh is an avid golfer who loves to travel, cook and has studied abroad. She looks forward to getting to know you and is happy to help clients with any questions or concerns they may have.

With more than 16 years of financial services experience, Charlotte Shindruk joined Friesen Capital Management in September 2013 as an Assistant, focused on building quality client relationships and offering first-class client support services. She is often the first person that clients speak to or meet with when they call or visit our offices. In addition to handling inbound call flow and setting up meetings, Charlotte works closely with our new clients to set up their accounts, manage the associated onboarding workflow, responding to most client administrative requests, and maintaining and updating current client records. She has been recognized on numerous occasions, both internally and by clients, for her can-do attitude and “getting the job done”.
