After studying Computational Science and Fine Arts at the University of Saskatchewan, then management training at the TD Bank, I spent two years running my family’s grain farm in Southern Saskatchewan. It was a robust introduction to entrepreneurship. I then moved to Calgary in 1979 in the middle of the oil boom.
I began my investment career working for broker/dealers and later with Canarim Investments in Vancouver which became Canaccord Capital Corp. In 1984, I joined a predecessor firm to Macquarie Private Wealth, which was acquired by Richardson GMP in 2013.
Along with The Rotary Club of Calgary South, I am a proud co-founder of the Stay in School Program. It provides post secondary education grants to capable students from financially challenged families.
